How Long Does Information Stay on Your Credit Report

How Long Does Information Stay on Your Credit Report How Long Does Information Stay on Your Credit Report? How Long Does Information Stay on Your Credit Report? While almost all information stays on your report for seven years, most of it will stop affecting your score sometime before that.If you have a bad credit score, you’re going to have a lot of trouble taking out personal loans from a traditional lender like a bank or online loan company. Instead, you may find yourself settling for short-term bad credit loans, like payday loans and cash advances, and risk entering a cycle of high-interest debt. The long-term solution is to improve your credit score, but that’s easier said than done. And before you can improve your score, you first need to first you need to understand why you have bad credit and what you can do to fix it.And in order to understand your credit score, you first need to understand your credit reports because its the information these reports that are leading to your lousy credit score. With good financial behavior, that information will eventually be replaced by bette r infoâ€"and one day it will drop off your score entirely. But how long does information stay on your credit report? And how long will it affect your score? We reached out to the experts for answers. Here’s how your credit report works.  Your credit reports are documents that trace your history as a borrower, and information from these reports is used to create your credit score. A common metaphor to describe the relationship between the two is that credit reports are like a test, while credit scores are like the grade you receive on that test.According to financial coach and author  Karen Ford, credit reports provide “a summary of your credit history and certain other information reported to credit bureaus by your lenders and creditors.” These reports are created and compiled by the three major credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax.Information that’s recorded in credit reports includes bill payments, amounts owed on loans and credit cards, as well as recent hard c redit inquiries. “Bills that will affect your score are credit cards, student loans, mortgage loans, car loans, personal loans,” said Ford. “Bills that won’t affect your score are utilities, rent (if the landlord doesn’t report to the FICO), and medical bills.”“Of course, if you’re horrendously late with any of these, they may decide to utilize a collection agency. If you get turned into a collection agency, this will affect your credit score,” she added. Bankruptcies and other information available on the public record are also included in your report. As not all companies report information to all three credit bureaus, your score can actually vary depending on which report was used to create your score. The most common type of credit score is the FICO score, but there are other types of credit scores as well, including VantageScore, which was created by the bureaus themselves.Your credit reports can also contain incorrect information that could be artificially low ering your score. “One reason to check your credit report is to ensure there isn’t something on there that isn’t accurate,” Ford advised. “There may have been a mistake and a bill unpaid may be on the report, which can adversely affect your credit score.”Luckily, you can access your credit reports for free! As Ford went on to explain, you’re entitled to one free copy of your report from each bureau every twelve months. You can order a copy of your report online by visiting AnnualCreditReport.com, which Ford emphasized was “the only authorized website for free credit reports.”Information stays on your report for 7 to 10 years. If you make a mistake like a late payment, the good news is that it won’t be on your credit report forever. The not-so-good news is that it will be on your report for quite some timeâ€"over half a decade.“Items will stay on your credit report for different periods of time depending on the nature of the information,” said Jacob Dayan,CEO a nd co-founder of  Community Tax, LLC (@communitytaxllc) and  Finance Pal, LLC. “Many common things like late payments and charge-offs will stay on your report for seven years, while more serious incidents like bankruptcy will stay for up to 10 years.”Luckily, not all bankruptcies stay on your report for a full decade. According to Jared Weitz (@jaredweitz), CEO and Founder of United Capital Source Inc, it’s only Chapter 7 bankruptcies that stay on your record for the full 10 years. Chapter 13 bankruptcies, on the other hand, only remain on your report for seven years.(What’s the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies? Chapter 13 involves a restructuring of debts and a repayment plan, whereas Chapter 7 involves liquidating your assets in order to pay off what you can and then discharging the rest. For more information, check out our blog post on which debts canâ€"and cantâ€"be discharged through bankruptcy.)So if you miss a bill payment on your credit card b ill, you have to wait a full seven years before your credit score can rebound? Not necessarily.“The good news, however, is that these items will carry less weight in your credit score as they become older,” said Dayan. “You can expect your credit score to rebound from the significant hit a bankruptcy will have in around five years.”Dayan also added that you are free to dispute any items on your credit report as long as you have grounds to do so. For information on that, you can read our post on contesting credit report errors. How late was that late payment?Even though a late payment stays on your credit report for seven years, the damage it does to your credit score should fade well before that seven-year mark is up. The difference lies in how late you were in making that payment. The longer that bill sits unpaid, the worse it is for your score.“Negative actions, such as late payment, will stay on your credit record for seven years, but not all actions are equally as damag ing,” explained Weitz. “If you have an isolated event where payment is 30 to 60 days late, this will be less damaging than multiple late payments or a late payment that exceeds 90 days.”To view impact to your credit, think of payments in 30-day increments,” Weitz continued. If you have one payment that is 30 days, or 60 days late, this wont cause lasting damage to your credit. If you are 90 days late your score can be impacted for the entire seven years.“Since the scoring model is based on the prediction of whether you meet the credit obligations in a 90 day period, exceeding this duration will hurt a creditors trust in you, and thusâ€"lowering your score. And if you think that the damage to your score can’t get any worse past 90 days, think again.“If your delinquency exceeds 120 days, your debt is usually sold to a third-party collection agency and will be filed on your credit score, hurting it further and longer,” said Weitz. So if you miss a bill payment, don’t th row up your hands and assume that it’s too late to do anything. The longer that bill sits unpaid, the more your score will suffer. How can you improve your credit? There are five main categories of information that make up your FICO score. Your payment history makes up 35 percent of your total score, more than any other single factorâ€"while your amounts owed/credit utilization comes in a close second at 30 percent. So if you are looking to improve a bad credit score, these are two areas where you want to focus your efforts. In short: You need to pay your bills on time and you need to pay down your debt.To pay down your debt, check out the Debt Snowball and Debt Avalanche strategies. Ford also recommended measuring your credit utilization ratio, as carrying credit card balances that exceed 30 percent of your overall limit can have an additional negative impact on your score.Lastly, Ford pointed out that the length of your credit history and your credit mix also play a part in your sc ore. (In fact, they make up 15 percent and 10 percent of your overall credit score, respectively.) While longer credit histories are preferable, Ford asserted that a short credit history can be great as long as you’ve made your payments on time.Improving your credit score is likely going to take yearsâ€"especially if the main reason you have poor credit is too many late or missed payments. But the sooner you start working to fix your credit, the sooner you’ll see results, even if its still years down the line.Have bad credit? Build an emergency fund.Oddly enough, the kinds of short-term no credit check loans (like payday and title loans) that you get stuck with when you have bad credit don’t affect your scoreâ€"unless they get sent to collections. But even if these loans don’t show up on your credit report, their high rates and lump sum payments can do plenty of damage to your financial wellbeing. Many soft credit check installment loans, on the other hand, do report your pay ments and can affect your score either positively or negatively, depending on whether or not you make your payments on time.Even if you have bad credit, the best way to avoid one of these loans is not to need a loan in the first place. That means having a well-stocked emergency fund built up to cover surprise expenses. I was terrified walking into my third attempt at Engl 1010 this semester. I attempted and failed this class twice already so I was worried about what was to come, more failing grades, more difficult papers to write, and more confusion. I wrote about this concern in my Literacy Narrative assignment. The Power Consumption Free Essays

The power consumption for sending (or receiving) a single message in a mobile phone Abstract: We measure overall SMS, Whatapps and Wechat for the power consumption of a single message. These results are validated by overall power measurements of two other devices: the Battery Doctor and Battery Detective. We discuss the significance of the power drawn by the various length and time of texting messages, and identify the most promising areas to focus on for further improvements of power management. We will write a custom essay sample on The Power Consumption or any similar topic only for you Order Now We also analyze the energy impact of dynamic voltage and frequency scaling of the device’s application processor. Introduction: In recent years, people have a mobile phone in their hands all the day. At the same time, device functionality is increasing rapidly. In the number of applications, texting messages occupied an important part. Hence, optimal management of power consumption of devices such as SMS, WhatsApp and WeChat is critical. In this paper we attempt to answer how much of the system’s energy is consumed by sending (or receiving) a single message of the system and under what circumstances. And we will use IPhone5 as the experimental product. Furthermore, we validate the results with computing manually and the additional mobile device: Battery Doctor, Battery Detective. Material: Experimental product: IPhone5 (IOS6. 1. 2) Timer Testing Applications: Messages, WhatsApp, WeChat Measuring Application: Battery Doctor and Battery Detective Formula: 1)The time of sending each message=The time of the usage of 1% power/ Number of messages. 2) Average electricity consumption of each message ( with the Wifi usage)= 1% power of Iphone 5/ Number of messages. ) Average electricity consumption of each message ( without the Wifi usage) =(1% power of Iphone 5/ Number of messages) – (The time of sending each message x The power consumption rate of wifi function). Methodology: Device under test Experimental setup When an iPhone is not actively being used (the screen is off), the biggest power drain are the various radios: WiFi, 3G and Bluetooth. So first tip is to turn off any service you don’t need. Settings are useful in do ing so with one tap. There is some information you need to calculate before we collect the data. Therefore, after you turn off all the service that you do not use, you have to turn on the Battery Doctor and check out the battery usage of your phone and calculate how much usage if 1%power. In the case of IPhone 5, the battery usage is 1430, therefore IPhone 5 1% power= 1430/100= 14. 30 mAh. Also, you can use the Battery Doctor to check out how long you still can use on that percentage of battery. Then, according to the Doctor Battery, when IPhone 5 in 41% power, it can use 8hrs 15mins without the WiFi function. If use with the WiFi function, it can use 7hrs 13mins. Therefore, you can calculate that: The power of IPhone 5 in 41%: 14. 3mAh x 41 = 586. 3mAh The power consumption rate of IPhone 5 without the WiFi function: 586. 3 mAh/[(60 x 8 +15) x 60] = 0. 0197 mAh s-1 The power consumption rate of IPhone 5 without the WiFi function: 586. 3 mAh/[(60 x7 +13) x 60] = 0. 0226 mAh s-1 The power consumption rate of WiFi function: 0. 0226 – 0. 0197 = 0. 0029 mAh s-1 Then, you get all the basic information which you need, and you can turn off the Battery Doctor, and start to collect the data. Then, you need to let your phone natural reduce 1% power. After it you can use the timer to count time and type your message and send it out. After you use 1% of power, you can stop the timer and count how many messages did u sent and record it. Then, you need to repeat to collect those data several times. However, you also need to do it in different power percentage, to collect more data. After u collect the data of time and number of messages sending, you can use those formula to calculate the information. Software Excel, Word, Battery Doctor, Battery Detective Results We had collected the data from 3 different power level, high power (80%), general power (20-80%), and lower power ( How to cite The Power Consumption, Papers

Now let me tell you why, I use a lot of technology myself, From texting on my phone to surfing on my computer to beating jordy on PlayStations and the one thing that these have in common is that without light they wouldn't exist because their would be no way for you to see what you were doing. Imagine having a phone that had no screen just numbers to call a speaker to hear and a mic to speak, their would be no such thing as texting. Imagine instead of a computer having a typewriter! or instead of Playing your Playstation or Xbox playing board games. Yeah they're not that bad but wouldn't you get bored, i know i would. Also all of our favorite tv shows from Teen Wolf to The walking dead to SpongeBob none of these would exist because their would be no tv! all we could do was watch plays but even those would have to be outside. Another reason light is the best invention ever is that without it nightlife would irrelevant what i mean by this is that their would be no night time moves no concerts no movies no parties no carnivals even soccer and football games would have to be played during the day and as a soccer star myself i know that playing at night with the lights on just feels better. The only move would be to sleep at 8 O"clock.. even on weekends , and here in december we would sleep at 5! and the average high school student wakes up at 6 if you do the math were asleep about the same amount of hrs that we are awake essentially half of our lives would be slept away, think of all the things we could be doing after 5 o'clock , We could finish that hw assignment from that one class or have a nice family dinner or even become a millionaire the possibilities are endless, Dreams could be made, love could be found ,children could be born All if we didn't Have to sleep at 5 O'clock. Speaking of sleep imagine little kids who are terrified of the dark having to sleep in pitch black just thinking of their cute little face almost scared to death makes me wanna cry, not only is it bad for the kids it would be bad for the parents as well because their little angels would be keeping them up all night long screaming and kicking! Then, to make matters worse these parents have nothing to do at night because again like i said there would be no nightlife. No clubs, No Bars no Parties or get togethers as adults say, so them too would be stuck at home. Imagine that mrs reiner, being stuck at home even on weekends when you don't have papers to grade, you would just sit there saying um Some might say we could use candles but in the kids sake, not only do candles run out their hot wax and flame are dangerous for the kids. Also candles can't light up our electronics, they can't be used for watching movies or tv show. they can't be used to project our phone computer or video game screens the list goes on and on! Also some might say we don't need all this technology that we could survive without it like in ancient times, but ask yourselves this, do you want to just survived or live life to its fullest So to conclude without light our lives would be very different from our schedules to our activities we do for fun. Everyday new cutting-edge technology is being discovered but it all started from light! everything and anything would be affected if we didn't have light!

Development in banking and finance Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4500 words

Development in banking and finance - Essay Example With passage of time things turned more complex; bankruptcy of big financial institutions like Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America disturbed the sentiment of the market. Such state of affairs affected the global stock markets and soon almost all the developed nations were engulfed by economic recession (p.63-67) To support the economy, the government of different nations infused stimulus packages for injecting liquidity in the market. Government also provided bails to several corporate companies to save them from bankruptcy. The increasing financial crisis was aggravated by a decline in demand; hence government had to enhance spending so as to raise the demand. To raise the demand and boost confidence among the investors, government reduced tax rate on several direct as well as indirect tax instruments so that the investors can have more money in their hand. To boost expenditure among the investors and to enhance supply of cash in the market, government reduced prime lending rate as low as possible. From the above given fact it appears that government of almost all the developed nations are following expansionary monitory and fiscal policy. Through expansionary monitory policy governments were able to reduce the rate of interest to a great extent. Through open market operations the central bank enhanced total money circulating in the economy whereas the government enhanced the monitory supply through sovereign bond transactions. The governments of developed nation enhanced disbursement of cash through banking sector by reducing cash reserve ratio i.e. the cash which the banks need to maintain as deposit with central bank. Reserve banks gave loans to the financial instructions at lower rate so that they can disburse loans to the investors and supply of money increases. Interest rate is the most commonly used monitory tool to

Written report of Ma Wan Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Written report of Ma Wan - Essay Example Although Ma Wan is a small island, it has proved to be a favourable destination for international and local tourists (Sewell & James, 1995). It has a number of leisure places such as the Ma Wan Park, Noah’s Ark Museum, Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach overseen by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Heritage Centre (Sewell & James, 1995). Ma Wan is an island and a relative small one and as such has a small number of inhabitants. One thing notable is the old abandoned houses that are found in sections of the island. The governments seem to have prompted an agenda of relocating some of the locals to ease population in this area. The reduction of the population had fallen to 800 in 2008 (You Lin Xu, 2011). Abandoned shops are visible, and schools too, one being the Kei Wai Primary School indicating that the locals had not been alienated to the outside world. Religion integration is well-bonded in Ma Wan. Noah’s Ark is also an important landmark in Ma Wan. It is based on the Biblical story about Noah. The presence of temples has been an indication of the preservation of Ma Wan’s religion. Presence of churches and temples places Ma Wan as a multi-religion region, and there has been a peaceful co-existence between these different groups. These indicates an important aspect of diversification around Ma Wan. Ma Wan transport has been significantly advanced, and the construction of Kap Shui Mun Bridge is an indication of this progress. However, though, the people of Ma Wan depend on water transport mainly to get to the mainland and also the tourists mainly use water transport as part of their leisure activities. Therefore, it is an indication that Ma Wan has limited connection of roads to the mainland of Hong Kong. As such, the locals offer transport services through boats. A harbour is also present in Ma Wan, and this has been as a result of the evacuation

Relations Between The US And India

Relations Between The US And India India and Pakistan have been in the interest of the United States due to their strategic positions and roles the South Asia. This memo will describe an overview about US relations and policies toward India and Pakistan. It will also provide recommendations that Vietnam must support US policies toward India because of the benefits for our country regarding to economic development, nuclear energy plan and defense and security stability. This memo uses realism and systemic approach as the analytical framework. It studies and analyzes the relationships and policies in the concern with power and security in the whole international system. BACKGROUND Relations between the US and India After Indian independence in 1947, the relationship between India and the US was not warm. US policies regarding to India -Pakistan dispute over Kashmir was one issue that deteriorated India US relations since the US was supporting Pakistan over India. Even during Sino Indian war in 1962, when the US provided India with military support, the relationship did not improve much. During Cold War, the US was concerned about the neutrality of India because India signed the Indo Soviet Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation in 1971.  [1]  During this period, the US viewed India as just a regional power with little global weight and concentrated more on supporting Pakistan, which was invaded by the Soviet from 1979.  [2]   After Cold War, the US lessened assistance to Pakistan, leading to a better relationship with India. Furthermore, since 1991, India has transformed the economy and opened the country to foreign investment. With rapid growth, India has become an emerging economic power in the world and had opportunities for economic engagement with the US.  [3]  The relationship between the countries has been positively shifted, especially in economic development, security, military and nuclear cooperation. However, it has been constraint mainly because of the complication of the trilateral relationship: the US India Pakistan. Current Policies of the US toward India Economic Policies: The US strongly supports Indias economic reform, and develops trade and investment partnership with India. Bilateral goods trade revenue between the two countries increased 932.14%, from $5.6 billion in 1990 to %57.8 billion in 2011.  [4]  US foreign direct investment to India was $27.1 billion in 2010, a 29.5% increase from 2009.  [5]   However, India has extensive trade and investment barriers, such as heavy government involvement in the banking and finance sector and demanding regulatory structures. Therefore, the US has encouraged and supported India to remove those barriers.  [6]   Security and Military Policies: The US and India share a variety of common strategic priorities. Both are concerned about the rise of Chinas power and do not want China to dominate Asia. They also consider the security of energy lanes in the Indian Ocean as a critical factor to their national security.  [7]  With those strategic policies, the US has had Indias in its side in a number of situations. India supported the US in three resolutions against Irans nuclear programs and in the reconstruction in Afghanistan. Indian military forces have also had tight contacts, joint patrols, joint training and exercises with the US.  [8]   The US has been selling defense equipment to India. By 2011, US arms sales to India reached approximately $8.83 billion.  [9]  However, US arms sales decisions to India still depend on the stability of the region, especially the balance between India and Afghanistans military. The US is also concerned about the engagement between India and Russia and Israel, the two major suppliers Indias army.  [10]   Another remarkable point in US policies toward India is that US President Barack Obama publically announced that the US will supports India to be one permanent member of United Nation (US) Security Council if it is expanded.  [11]  Although it does not mean that the Council will be reconstructed and India will be able to have a permanent seat soon, Obamas announcement has been an effective diplomatic gesture to show the importance of the US to India and to strengthen their relationship.  [12]   Nuclear Policies: US nuclear policies have been to cooperate with India. By doing so, the US not only to be able to sell nuclear fuel, technology and reactors, but also build up India as a counterweight of China in Asia.  [13]  In October 2008, the US Congress approved an agreement facilitating nuclear cooperation between the two countries. Although the deal has brought benefits for both the US and India, it has faced criticism and responses from many other countries. The deal has been said to go reversely against the international efforts of nuclear nonproliferation. It can also increase the risk of a nuclear arms race in Asia, when Pakistan, Iran and North Korea are attempting to develop their nuclear weapon programs as well.  [14]   Relations between the US and Pakistan After Pakistan became independent in 1947, the US provided military aid to Pakistan but did not seek deeper relations. However, in 1965 when the Indo Pakistan war occurred, the US suspended the assistance.  [15]  In 1979, the US discovered that Pakistan was building a uranium-enrichment facility in response to Indias nuclear program, and then stopped the aid.  [16]   In the same year, the Soviet invaded Afghanistan, leading to the reconnection between the US and Pakistan. However, once again, the discovery of Pakistans nuclear weapon programs in 1990 caused to the suspension of military assistance from the US.  [17]   The nuclear tests in 1998 led to new US sanctions to Pakistan. However, the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US (2001) was a turning point from which Pakistan started to be valuable for the US in the counter-terrorism campaigns. Economic assistance came back, and Pakistan became a major non-NATO ally of the US.  [18]  But since May 2011, after US intelligence killed Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan, the relationship has reached to its lowest point since 2001.  [19]   Current Policies of the US toward Pakistan: Economic Policies: In March 2009, the US develop an AfPak policy to emphasize that success in Afghanistan depend on actions taken in Pakistan. The US has increased annual aid to Pakistan from $600 million to $1.5 billion in five years. The new strategy has aimed to assist Pakistan to improve living standards of local people, especially ordinary Pakistanis along the border region and counter al Qaeda and Taliban propaganda.  [20]   Military Policies: Obamas administration now is still expanding Bushs policy of drone attacks to the Taliban in the north-west of Pakistan.  [21]  This strategy has shown its effectiveness in killing Taliban groups, but it has alienated the public because of innocent civilians being collateral damage. According to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, a non-profit organization in England, between 474 and 881 civilians in Pakistan have been killed in strikes from 2004 to 2012.  [22]   The US has assisted Pakistan with Train and Equip programs. US arms and security assistance has included helicopters, infantry arms, advanced identification systems and police training, with the purpose of strengthen Pakistan domestic stability and law enforcement capability.  [23]   Nuclear concern: WikiLeaks in 2010 revealed US diplomats fear that Pakistans nuclear weapons program could lead to the weapons falling into the hands of terrorists or a devastating nuclear exchange with India.  [24]  However, US responses toward Pakistans nuclear programs are still unclear. Challenges the US Faces: Challenges for the US in South Asia are the quadrilateral relationships between the US, India, Pakistan and China. These relationships are extremely complex. India and Pakistan have had a long history with wars and conflicts. The Kashmiri sovereignty has been a major issue of tension. The two countries also appear to be fighting a shadow war inside Afghanistan.  [25]  The US India and the US Pakistan relationships themselves are constraint because of each other. The tie between the US and Pakistan displeases India and vice versa. Chinas South Asia interests are firmly linked with Pakistan. This situation is problematic not only for the China India relationships, but also for the China the US ones because of significant US investment in Pakistan. RECOMMENDATIONS Vietnam has strategic relations with India, but not really with Pakistan, thus at the moment we just need to focus on US policies toward India. In order to maintain peace in the region, develop relations and get benefits from both India and the US; Vietnam must support US policies toward India. Following are the reasons: Benefits for the Economy: US economic policies toward India bring Vietnam benefits, not harm. The US encourages and supports India to remove trade and investment barriers,  [26]  opening more favorable conditions for Vietnam to trade with India. Both India and the US are important economic partners of our country. By supporting US policies, we can maintain and develop economic relationships with both countries, with the purpose of strengthening our economy. Benefits for the Nuclear Energy Plan: US policies toward Indias nuclear energy program benefit Vietnams plan of building nuclear power plants. The US has showed its interest in assessing other countries nuclear programs to see whether they are for peaceful purpose or not. Having an example of a peaceful energy nuclear program being supported by the US, we can confidently develop our plan. In addition, India has been a partner for our program, apart from Japan and Russia.  [27]  With US technology transfers, India can assist Vietnam more effectively. Cooperation with India will be important to us because we might no longer rely on Japan, which might exit the nuclear industry due to the damages after the tsunami in 2011.  [28]   Benefits for Defense and Security: The US India relations is a counterweight of China in Asia, especially in the East Sea conflicts. Supporting US military and security policies toward India brings Vietnam advantages in championing our targets from the disputes. High level of military exchanges, joint training and exercises between Vietnam and India,  [29]  with US support, has been strategic for us to deal with China. Backing India to be a permanent member of the UN Security Council is also beneficial for Vietnam due to the relationships between the two countries. CONCLUSION US relations with India and Pakistan have had a long history, with significant changes after each period of time. The US has had special interest in both India and Pakistan because each country has strategic importance for US power and security. With regard to this situation, Vietnam must support US policies toward India because they bring us benefits for our economy, nuclear energy plan and defense and security stability.

Context and Description of the Advertisement Essay

The advert, BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER, is the property of Burger King Food aimed at promoting the new sandwich that the company has produced for its customers. From the start, the advert makes you think of something sexual through the picture and words that have been used in the advert. The display of the advert is a picture of a woman with her mouth open and the sandwich going in and at the bottom of the advert. There is a caption which states â€Å"it’ll BLOW your mind away† Using pathos, for humor and the text of the advert. Context and Description of the Advertisement The ad I choose is a more recent advert by Burger King Food, which they have developed to promote the has a woman with red lipstick, side view of her with her mouth open, with the new BK sandwich, going by the name the â€Å"BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER† heading into her mouth. Right underneath the picture it has the caption, â€Å"IT’LL BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY† and in the upper right hand corner it also reads; â€Å"IT JUST TASTES BETTER†. From the outlook of the whole advert, I believe the target of the audience was directed mainly towards the male gender, especially the younger males from the age of 18 years and those whole are middle-aged. This is due to the reason that the image used is that of a young woman opening her mouth for a sandwich, which is attractively decorated (Petley, 2003). The text used also tends to create some kind of sexual image in combination to the picture of the woman. However, it could also be fit for women as well, since it seems to be d irected and make the audience believe it is a sexual advert. This is demonstrated through the use of various words like; â€Å"BLOW, Fill your desire for something long, and it just tastes better† as well as have the picture of a white young lady who is opening her red lipstick mouth to a sandwich that is claimed to be seven inches in length. The company, Burger King is known to be one of the all American fast food joints that compete with other companies such as McDonald’s, Carl’s Jr., and In and Out, which also offer similar products among many others. The intention of the advert in my opinion was to create and bring out some form of humor for the majority of the customers who are in the younger age group category of customers (Petley, 2003). The use of some form of sexual context in the advert was to draw attention of those customers in the age group mentioned above. The image used in the advert is that of a white woman, displaying the side view of her face, with some short blonde hair wearing some lipstick on her lips. The picture of the young lady in the advert displays her mouth open and the new sandwich known as the â€Å"BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER† sandwich heading straight into her mouth. The caption in the upper right hand corner says, â€Å"IT JUST TASTES BETTER† and right below the image there is another caption which states that, â€Å"It’ll blow your mind away†. In the lower part of the second caption in the advert has the picture or image of the sandwich that is being offered with the name of the sandwich being â€Å"BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER†. Additional fine print of the advert contains details about the sandwich and it states, â€Å"fill your desire for something long†. The use of color has been done in such a way that there is harmony and clearly outlines the details of the advert making the words legible and the picture visible and attractive (Petley, 2003). Analysis of Rhetorical Appeals The advert clearly demonstrates various rhetorical appeals and I believe that Burger King Food has made use of all the three rhetorical appeals in their advert (Rosenwasser, & Stephen, 2012). The rhetorical appeals which have been used include appeal to Logos, Ethos and Pathos. Reasoning (Logos) It is important that an advert must appeal to reasoning and sound logical when someone interested looks at the image of the advert in addition to the picture used in an advert. Using various texts in the advert for example, â€Å"IT JUST TASTE BETTER†, as used in the advert, placed in the upper right hand corner. Burger Kind Food makes one see the logic behind the woman and the sandwich through the use of the above text mentioned as an example (Rosenwasser, & Stephen, 2012). It is logical since this is a new product placed in a recent advert hence the statement, â€Å"IT JUST TASTE BETTER†. Character (Ethos) The author of the advert, Burger King Food, tries to appeal to ethos through the picture of the woman used in the advert and the words which may elicit different emotions such as desire, love or some sexually relate emotions (Rosenwasser, & Stephen, 2012). The author displays the side view of the woman with red lipstick and an open mouth in addition to words such as â€Å"Just tastes better† and â€Å"It’ll blow your mind away†. In this advert, the image of the sandwich is directed towards the mouth of the young lady who is displayed, which the author of the advert uses to elicit emotions and feelings of wanting to have the exact same sandwich as the one in the advert. Emotion (Pathos) The author has used the side view of the woman with red lipstick and a wide open mouth. This brings the feeling of desire for food, especially sandwich, since it arouses the emotion of desire to try out the sandwich (Rosenwasser, & Stephen, 2012). Through the use of the picture of a woman with an open mouth and a sandwich heading inside the mouth with red lipstick in addition to the use of the words such as â€Å"IT’LL BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY†, evokes may evoke or give the impression of sexual feelings. Furthermore, in the fine print of the advert it states that, â€Å"Fill your desire for something long† in addition to the title â€Å"BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER†. This arouses the feelings and makes one to believe that the advert is more of a sexual advert than just a simple commercial advert that is intended to promote the sandwich (Petley, 2003). Conclusion From the analysis of the advert, I was able to make a concluding finding on this advert as one that has led me to believe that it is in fact a sexual advert. Based on the context of the texts that have been used in the advert as well as the image as shown below, the advert is more sexual oriented and is more inclined towards the male gender who may be the customers to be attracted by the advert. Apart from being an advert that seems to portray a different message than what may have been the intention of the author, it is a captivating advert and quite appealing to the intended audience hence I would say that the advert has achieved its main objective of attracting the audience to make purchase of the new sandwich by Burger King Food. As a Compass manufacturing company the organizational chart is very simplified. The positions are depicted down to the manger level. The executive vice president reports directly to the chief executive officer of Firebird Compass Tech. The marketing department manages customer demands. They also generate future sales and manage partnership technology initiatives for future projects within the navigation industry. The operations department manages people, schedules, equipment, technology, materials and information. Planning and scheduling production for each month was determined by operations management. The timing of packaging and delivering was forecasted and pushed through the information process internally to the packaging†¦show more content†¦As the compass progresses along the assembly line, plastic components are snapped together. Some plastic components move through printers, which stamp them with markings such as the company logo, or with scale markings for us e with maps. This could cause the throughput to slow down if defected parts are discovered. The Firebird Manufacturing facility is spread over 130,000 square feet and has a capacity for producing over six million compasses each year. Firebird Compass matches production capability to customer orders. The continuous analysis done weekly on the resources in the plant is compared to meet the demand of the product so our obligations are fulfilled. Firebird employs short term fixes to any imperfections in balance by hiring extra workers during a heavy production cycle, plan a third shift for continuous operations, approve overtime at the worker level and sub-contract if necessary. Production planning at Firebird is a key essential task with complimenting sub tasks requiring the managers input for a successful operation. At Firebird modulating capacity is accomplished by additional overtime and increasing the part time employees hired for the additional production needed. Firebird has the capacity to meet the demands of the compasses that are ordered at frequent peaks during the year. Firebird can achieve this demand with inventory buffers in the supply chain. By keeping an
